Safe Harbour II Group

Group History:

This group got started in 2000 by Charlie D. and Danny T.

One of its inspirations came from a Saturday 8:30 a.m. meeting at the Post Oak Club. The founders remembered the diverse, convivial, joyful group that came together to kick off the weekend. Another inspiration was the existing Safe Harbour Group on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. This group provided recovering people a safe place to heal. Once mended, the members could sail back into the mainstream of life, ready to face the week. For ongoing support and a safe refuge, the members could always return to a safe "harbour," with its British spelling.
