Executive Secretary – Intergroup Association
Intergroup
Association, a 501(c)[3] nonprofit organization which
serves as the central office for Alcoholics Anonymous in the
o Oversee volunteer and paid
personnel and maintain the Intergroup office and physical plant;
o Prepare and maintain the AA
meeting directory, coordinate phone volunteers for a 24/7 hotline (which
includes day and “night watch” volunteers), serve as an ex officio member of
all Intergroup committees, maintain register of delegates, and oversee
publication of The Link (a bi-monthly
newsletter);
o Oversee the financial operations
of Intergroup Association, the bookstore and its inventory, prepare financial
reports and statements, and oversee payroll.
The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to
Intergroup and AA (and its principles) and be able to work with a variety of individuals,
groups, committees and boards, including the General Service Office. The following is also required:
o Business experience, including
managerial skills;
o Good verbal and written skills,
with an ability to write articles, reports, and produce and edit a bi-monthly
newsletter;
o Computer skills which include a
working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Word Perfect, and Quick Books.
A four-year college degree is preferred, as is a minimum
of 10 years of continuous sobriety and a good working knowledge of the AA
Traditions.
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
