What's happening to Houston AA after Harvey?

We are grateful to report that the Houston Intergroup office was spared significant damage from the storm.  The office is now open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

However, we are sure that many of the 500+ groups that we support in the greater Houston area weren't so fortunate.  Many other offices, groups, and members from around the country have contacted us with offers of support.  Houston Intergroup is setting up a distribution center to coordinate help and replacement literature for those groups and members who lost A.A. material in the flooding.

If you, or your group, has extra Big Books or 12&12's that you could contribute towards this relief we'd greatly appreciate the donations.  In addition, if you wish to make a monetary donation towards this work you can do so through PayPal on our website.  (
CLICK HERE for access to the page.) or you can mail in a check.  Please mark all donations "HARVEY" so that we can segregate them.

Please send any materials to:
Houston Intergroup
4140 Directors Row
Suite D
Houston, TX 77092
(713-686-6300)

If your group was flooded and needs some support to help carry the message, please contact us.  As supplies arrive, we will be replacing destroyed literature where ever possible.

Please be patient with us as this program is ramped up.  We will get materials available for your pick up as soon as possible.  Also, we ask that groups that are currently closed contact us so that we can attempt to keep the list of over 2400 meetings per week up to date.

Intergroup stands by to help in any way that we can.  But we do need support from those who were more fortunate that others.

Harvey Storm Relief Update

We are really touched by the outpouring of support for the fellowship of A.A. in our area who suffered from the tropical storm Harvey. The donations of literature, and especially the monetary donations have far exceeded our fondest hopes.

So far, we have been very active in getting Big Books and 12 & 12’s into shelters. In addition, we have started resupplying groups who were wiped out in the flooding. We know that there will be more to come.

For now, PLEASE hold off any more gifts for storm relief until we can sort out the situation at the many shelters, and groups. We believe that we have the immediate future covered through your generosity. However if you’d like to help us financially to keep carrying the message in our very large metropolitan area, we welcome those contributions as they are always needed. Donations can be made under the website’s “Service and Donations” page. We will keep you informed as the situation unfolds.
